Maximising The Potentials Of The Youth In Community And Nation Development

Sarah Adebisi Sosan Foundation is conscious of the Youth’s importance in the development of the Nation, hence the need for leadership Summit. SAS Foundation Leadership Summit is a growth plan designed for the youth to increase their leadership abilities which allow them to gain ideas and thoughts from practical advice. The Inaugural Summit was held on the 21st September 2016 and was themed MAXIMIZING THE POTENTIALS OF THE YOUTH IN COMMUNITY AND NATION DEVELOPMENT”.

The Summit was highly interactive ,the chairman of the Summit, Mrs. Foluke Abdul Razaq, a member, Board of Trustees advised the youth to identify their potentials, develop them and dream big .Delivering the Key Note speech was Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, The Honourable Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly ably represented by Hon. Tunde Buraimoh, he implored the youth to make judicious use of their youthful age to attain greatness for them to be celebrated .He made reference to young CEOs including Mark Zuckerber, the CEO of Facebook who came to limelight at the age of 18 and how the world is celebrating him.

He further implored the youth to make hays while the sun shines. Also at the Summit was Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi, the Chairman House committee on Education, Lagos State House of Assembly, who also sensitized the youth on the need to give importance to Education as it is the foundation for leadership. Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson (APC South West Women) also enthused the participants to engage in valuable activities that help build the nation. Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, former Commissioner for Rural Development and a member SAS Foundation BoT also addressed the youth at the Summit.

The youth Speakers at Summit were Dayo Israel, Stephen Akintayo (Live Streaming) and Aderonke Olu-Abikoye who addressed the participants on actualizing self- development, Turning challenges into opportunities, Multi-streaming strategies in today’s Economy, Enthusiasm towards Nigeria Economic system, the youth contributing their quota, as well as Bank of Industry’s supports for the Nigerian Youth presented by Mr. Obaro Marvel Osah, The Regional Head Bank of Industry Lagos.
