Food Support: Love At Christmas 2018

December, a month of celebration and exchange of gift, a time of happiness and counting God’s blessing for the year for most people. This period is also a time of unhappiness to people in rural communities as they have little or nothing to celebrate with. In light of this, Sarah Adebisi Sosan foundation embarked on Food Support Program for 1000 families in Ojo town and the rural riverine communities of Ojo Local government in Lagos State with the intention of putting food in the bellies of families and smiles faces, giving them reasons to be thankful and a ‘’December to remember’’. The program was held on the 22nd and 24th of December, 2018 respectively. The program was covered by Lagos State Television and Newspapers.

 

PROGRAM ACTIVITY DAY 1

Day 1 of the food support program was held on Saturday, 22nd December, 2018. We had over 650 families that were reached out to. The program commenced at 11am in Ajangbadi area of Ojo Local Government by second bus-stop.

Her Excellency Princes Mrs Sarah Adebisi Sosan was there in person to celebrate with the community women. She has a chat with all of them one by one while they queue up to collect the food items. She put a smile on the faces of these rural riverine families during the Yuletide Season.

The program was coordinated by SAS Foundation team members and Alhaji Semilu and his team from Ojo Local Government, Lagos.

 

PROGRAM ACTIVITY DAY 2

Day 2 of thefood support program was held on Monday, 24th December, 2018. We reached to 350 families at the rural riverine communities of Ojo Local Government. The program were done in different riverine communities where we met with different families. We held the programs in Osolu Palace of Irewe Kingdom, Erekun town hall and Itogbesa respectively.

Food Items Packed: We had 4 different food items packed in a bag i.e Rice, Semovita, Sugar and Chocolate tea.
