International Day of the Girl Child 2019
Sarah Adebisi Sosan Foundation embarked on Girls Summit program to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child which is usually celebrated on the 11th of October throughout the world. Theme for the year is “GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable. From both Government and Private schools with over 200 girls from different senior secondary schools in Ojo Local Government, Oto-Awori LCDA and Iba LCDA participated in the summit.
Sarah Adebisi Sosan Foundation hosted different guests from British Council Abuja, Predictable Future foundation Lagos, Representatives from Ministry of Education Lagos, Department of Education from Iba LCDA, Lagos, School Teachers, Girls from different schools and Compere for the event from GOTV multi-choice.
The program was held on Tuesday, 15th October 2019 at Iba Town Hall, Iba LCDA and proudly supported by Lagos State Ministry of Education, The Chairman of Iba LCDA and Graceco Limited (Princess Snacks). PROGRAM ACTIVITY
SAS Foundation commemorate International day of the girl child on Tuesday, 15th October 2019 at Iba Town Hall, Iba LCDA where over 200 girls from different senior secondary schools in Ojo Local Government, Oto-Awori LCDA and Iba LCDA gathered to participate in the summit. The registration of schools started at exactly 9am and the event commenced at exactly 10:15am with the National Anthem. After, we has the welcome address by Her Excellency Princess Sarah Sosan, the Founder of the foundation which was delivered by Treasure Uchegbu. Goodwill message from Mrs Ekundayo, the representative of Lagos State Ministry of Education District V and Mrs Hannah Oyebanjo CEO of Predictable future Foundation. Both speakers motivated the students about their self- esteem and taking the lead in the society.
Also, there was special performances in Cultural Dance, Drama, Choreography, Poem and a talk by 7 different schools. The program was so light up and filled with so many excitements.
The Keynote Speaker, Sonia Warner: Senior Governance Adviser from department for International Development, Abuja also motivated the girls from personal life story and experiences to Self-esteem and leadership, inner and outer beauty, focusing on being you and defining what that means on your terms.”
